We will miss his enthusiastic, welcoming kindness

By: Bonnie Wald Jawer

Our family first met Rabbi Levi at Chanukah Wonderland almost 9 years ago. We were struck by his energy, his charm, and the sheer enthusiasm of his welcome. We've known the Deitsch family over the years as Chaya grew up in preschool and summer camp with our son Bradley.
Rabbi Levi and his family have been energetic and fervent ambassadors for Judaism in our community. Although our family has not frequented the Chabad@Tysons events as much as we should have (or wanted to), our thoughts of the organization always come back to Rabbi Levi and his family's welcoming kindness.
His illness and death are a terrible tragedy for our community and for Rabbi Levi's family and friends. We shall miss his smiling presence and enthusiasm for Judaism and for our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with Miriam and the children. We are so very sorry.
